    cjoc42 is an inhibitor of gankyrin, an ankyrin-repeat oncoprotein whose overexpression has been implicated in the development of many cancer types. cjoc42 prevents the decrease in p53 protein levels normally associated with high amounts of gankyrin, and it restores p53-dependent transcription and sensitivity to DNA damage(In Vitro):cjoc42 (0.1, 1, and 10 μM) alone showed no dose-dependent change in cell viability. cjoc42 (0.5, 1, and 5 μM) inhibited gankyrin-induced lowering of p53 levels in cells.
